Ferry Building Farmers Market

The Ferry Building Farmers Market has a lot of really really good fruits and vegetables. These strawberries are the best of the best at $30.00 a flat. Are they worth it? I haven't sampled a strawberry as good since my first free sample when this market first moved from the parking lot a few years back.

Bay to Breakers

Bay to Breakers is one of the best late Spring events to happen in San Francisco. It's part footrace, part parade, part spectator sport. However you choose to experience it,
it will be a memorable one.



Many take this event seriously, elite athletes from around the world come to run.
Serious runners start a few minutes later, then the "parade" starts.



The floats are basically kegs or bars on wheels, Shopping carts borrowed from the
local supermarkets get the job done.



Many run in costume, lots of brides, lots of people also running without any clothing.
Spectators also come in costumes or in groups with themes.

If you are in San Francisco on the 3rd weekend in May, Bay to Breakers is the event to experience.

Bi-Rite Creamery & Bakeshop

Bi-Rite Creamery is getting pretty close to becoming my favorite ice cream place in the City. They a different approach, instead of a multitude of flavors to offer from, they opt for the seasonal and artisanal.

This afternoon, I selected the custom sundae. 1 scoop of salted caramel, 1 scoop of coffee/toffee, topped with caramel sauce, almonds and whipped cream. Cost for this $5.95. Pricey but definitely worth it.

It's close proximity to Dolores Park, makes it the perfect place to stop before enjoying an afternoon in the sun.

Odontophobia

My dentist, Dr. Chan assured me at last week's consultation,
that everything will be fine… and judging from the way he was explaining the procedure, it was going to be routine for him.

Today was the day for an extraction of a supernumerary molar.

Dr. Chan's office is on Van Ness @ Jackson, so I decided to take the California Cable Car. All of the City's public transportation today was free, due to the truck accident that happened early Sunday morning.

The procedure lasted less than 15 minutes. Four local shots were required. The first caused the most discomfort, the rest I barely even felt. After a 5 minute wait, to get numb, Dr. Chan said he was "just going to push around". Then, it was done.

The whole experience was really amazing. Everyone was so reassuring and the procedure was with the exception of the initial shot, pain free.

My extra tooth and odontophobia is now gone.

I even got a follow up call from Dr. Chan earlier this evening.
